3-Tier Architecture with CloudFormation

A three-tier LAMP application on AWS built with CloudFormation.

What changed

Kept the whole setup in version-controlled templates, so it can be recreated from code.

What I worked on

I designed the VPC and the separation between tiers for security and availability.
I wrote the CloudFormation templates for networking, compute, and data, and documented the architecture decisions.

A classic LAMP stack split into web, app and database tiers, with a load balancer in front, private subnets, and a Multi-AZ database. The diagram above shows how they connect.
